Volcanic rock produced by the eruption of a submarine volcano 2,200 years ago has been worn down by the current of the Kinu River to produce the spectacle we see here today. True to its name, meaning "Dragon King Canyon" in Japanese, this stunning sight resembles the curved body of a dragon, straddling the roughly three kilometer stretch between Kawaji Hot Springs and Kinu Hot Springs.
